Don’t be surprised to see an event of “Throw Ball” in Chetana College. Even I didn’t knew that there was an event of throw ball and so did anyone. You must have observed that all the sports events were mostly for boys and there was hardly any event for girls. Wasn’t that partial to girls? Obviously it was. So on the demand of girls, throw ball was organized by the college and that was very sweet on their part.
On the spot the registration was done and the arrangements were made. Teams did turn up and girls were nothing less. With just 15 minutes after the decision of conducting throw ball the gals came back with their teams. Well that was quite impressive and the faculty was also shocked to see such a response from them. 4 teams were there in total and the rules and regulations were made then and there. It was decided that it would be a 5 point game and the team which crosses 5 points first would be the winner.
The matches started and the girls showcased their outdoor talent. This match was a must watch for all those who termed girls as ’’delicate darlings’’. The girls showed their player side. The audience was really very supportive and the boys supported all the teams in equal manner. The teams which qualified for the finals were gals of Masters of Management studies (MMS)(B) Chetana college and Post Graduate diploma in Marketing (PG)(D)Chetana college.
The finale started with a bang. The girls played well in the scorching heat and were aiming towards their victory drenched in sweat. It was a game which was full of fun and excitement. But there was something really very strange among the PG Diploma gals team. They shouted some words all through the game which made the spectators wonder about it. No one except these girls knew what did they mean and with their coding language and great coordination the PG Diploma gals took away the trophies. After their win the gals were gals again and they shouted and screamed at the top of their voices, danced and hugged each other. There was happiness all around. I was a silent spectator and after they were all done with their photo session and talks I intervened them and asked them about their strategy and their feeling. While I could see that they were on the top of the world but hearing from them was a different feel. They again shouted and I got my answer. As I asked them about their captain and lead team member they all pointed towards one single girl.
Shweta Singh, the PG Diploma girl was their mentor guide and leader all throughout the game. She was the one who explained them their strategy and guided them during the game. She had a simple strategy of targeting the weakest of them and the team members followed her. She told me her secret of their code language and that was when she revealed that the girl who was nearer to the ball would shout and the one who shouted first would hit the ball. And so the game goes on.
So the throw ball game ended on a good note and the girls again proved that they are nothing less.
Winning Team
