Rajjo, played by Madhuri Dixit is a fearless lady who lives in Madhopur and teaches little girls their alphabets and grown-up girls how to weild a ‘lathi’. Rajjo leads a women’s gang who wears bright pink, oxidized silver and stand up for the downtrodden and against cruel husbands, cops and politicians. Sumitra Devi, played by Juhi Chawla is a politician who is hungry for power and will not even stop at murder for her benefit. The film is a standard good vs evil story. The film is purely fictional and not based on Sampat Pal and the real Gulabi Gang in Bundelkhand. The movie has all the masala like songs, dance, elections, fight and made to empower women against injustice but critics find it illogical and instead recommend to watch ‘Gulabi Gang’ released 2 weeks ago across India at few cinema halls.
