Cheti Chand is celebrated by Sindhi people of India and Pakistan on the second day of Chaitra Shukla Paksha i.e. one day after Ugadi and Gudi Padwa (1 day after 31st March 2014 which is on 1st April 2014). It is when the new moon becomes visible after no moon day. As the moon appears for the first time during the Cheti month, it is known as Cheti Chand. This festival is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Ishtadeva Uderolal who is popularly known as Jhulelal, the patron saint of Sindhis.
