Pepper Pot Day is celebrated on 29th December 2014. Pepper Pot is a thick stew of beef tripe, pepper and vegetables. During 1770s, the winter in Valley Forge was exceptionally harsh due to which farmers in the area sold their food to the British for pounds. The continental army had lack of food and survived on a stew made of tripe, vegetables and whatever they got for their survival. Celebrate Pepper Pot Day by making some Pepper Pot soup for the family.
