South African batsman Hashim Amla sets another ODI record:
Hashim Amla reaches 5000 ODI Run’s mark in just 101 innings, breaking Virat Kohli and Viv Richard’s joint record of 114 innings.
Last year, Amla broke Kohli’s record of fastest 15 ODI centuries and this year, it’s fastest 5000 runs.
Amla also holds the record for hitting the fastest 2000, 3000 and 4000 ODI runs.
The South African test captain contributed 66 in South Africa’s total of 279 for eight in 48.2 overs and also achieved the fastest 5000 runs feat.
Amla scored 66 runs of 66 balls after getting run-out by a superb throw right over the bails from Andre Russell.
