Asperger Syndrome (AS) is an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), one of a distinct group of complex neuro development disorders characterized by social impairment, communication difficulties and restrictive patterns of behavior.
Although ASD varies significantly in character and severity, it occurs in all ethnic and socio economic groups and affects every age group.
Children with the disorder will gather enormous amounts of factual information on their favorite subjects and will talk incessantly about it. They may also develop anxiety or depression in young adulthood.
Well the cause of ASD is still not clearly known. But scientists have revealed structural and functional differences in specific parts of the brain of the children who have AS when compared to people who don’t have it.
There is no cure for Asperger Syndrome and the autism spectrum disorders. The ideal treatment plan therapies and interventions that meet the specific needs of children.
With effective treatment, children with AS can learn to overcome their disabilities, but they may still find social situations and personal relationships challenging.
