HOMES USING TELEVISION (HUT)
It represents the size of the audience available. It is the percent of homes using their television sets at a given hour. This varies by the time of day, the day of the week, the season of the year, and the area of the country.
Television viewing goes up in the evening, and in the winter, raising the potential audience (and cost) for your commercial.
These concepts can apply to radio as well as television.
