Insights to solve Psychometric and Personality tests

Psychometric tests – Personality tests An insight to solve them:

  • Don’t be afraid:
First and foremost – Don’t be afraid of personality tests. There is no such thing as a right or wrong answer. Be who you are Don’t be afraid

  • Just a selection tool:

The Psychometric test is a part of the selection process. It is only a part of the process and not the entire process. The combined results decide your future. Just a selection tool

  • Practise:

Familiarise yourself with the instructions on how to complete such tests Solve a few practice tests to get used to get a hang of these tests. The internet has many such tests. Practise

  • Don’t ponder too much:

Don’t over think or read too much into questions – what they might be trying to ask or where they are leading. Try not to worry about individual questions and what they may reveal about you. Many questions together reveal a trait. (A trait is a quality like leadership, team building skills.) Don’t ponder too much

  • Be smart, not oversmart:

Don’t try to outsmart the test. The questionnaires are structured to measure different things and will often ask the same thing several times but in different ways . Be smart, not oversmart

  • Be real:

Do not try to create an ‘unreal’ image , be honest about how you see yourself rather than how you would like to be – besides ‘managing your answers’ is itself an indicator of personality. Be real

  • Be careful:

Beware of the lie “detector question”. Certain questions are control items . If you claim to be too perfect, and score too high on these, it will raise doubts about the rest of your answers.” Be careful

  • Don’t sit on the fence:

When taking a personality questionnaire don’t tick the “don’t know” unless you mean it. It turns your profile as average and that may not be desired always. Don’t sit on the fence

Good luck
