Who do you think is correctly dressed for an MBA entrance interview?:
What to wear?:
Most of us focus only on our interview preparation. This is of course important. However, we must also pay attention, to what we wear. The correct attire creates the correct IMPRESSION.
Clothes to wear for men:
Wear a two piece suit in dark colours . If you don’t have one, wear a blazer. Wear a button down dress shirt. The tie should be either solid or in a simple pattern. Trim your hair. It should be neatly groomed. Remove your earrings or facial piercings. Trim your fingernails. Cut down on your cologne. Polish your shoes. No floaters or sports wear. Socks that co-ordinate with the outfit.
Clothes to wear for women:
A neutral coloured suit in navy or another dark colour with a skirt. Skirt length should be a little below the knee. A decent cotton salwar kurta can also be worn. No kurtis and no leggings Wear closed pair shoes. Simple accessories. No visible body piercings. Make up should be minimal. Minimal cologne and perfume.
Other things to remember:
Carry a file or portfolio with important documents neatly arranged. Switch of your cell phone before you enter the interview hall. Groom yourself before you enter the hall. The travelling and waiting may make you look tired. Smile and greet the panel when you enter the hall.
