First of all, A Hearty Congratulations to you on this Brilliant Success…!!

  • Tell us about yourself and your college

I am a Delhi based girl and a very fun loving person. I love to experience new things, spend time with my family and hang out with friends. About my college, to be in Mithibai College its a great experience as it offers everything to its student which helps in overall development and grooming the personality.

  • How did you plan to get into BMS?

From the starting i always wanted to persue some professional course. I had options like BBS from Delhi University, BBA from many other colleges but as i always dreamt of studying outside my home town, so by surfing on internet i found BMS as a golden oppurtunity for me which has indeed helped me to be more outspoken, independent and bold person.

  • Is the BMS syllabus just what you had expected it to be?

It is as per my expectation as it covers all the subjects related to management and partly the subject knowledge of economics, finance, accounts, taxation, labour law etc. which is very useful for students who like to do MBA in finance/marketing/HR. It also offers the practical knowledge by the way of solving the case studies which is very useful to take management decisions.

  • Were you expecting to top in the exams? To whom would you credit this success to?

I have always been a hard working person and very determined towards my studies , so i did expect to be among the first three or four but when i topped in the 1st sem , it definitely boosted up my confidence and thrived me to be consistent in my performance. For this i would give credit to my father who is a CA and always helped in my studies. My parents always possess confidence on my hard work which inspires me to do my best.

  • Did you start preparing right from the first day of your BMS?

Frankly speaking, i dont have the habit of studying before the exams. Since my school days i have the habit of studying from the start. In college things do changes to some extent but i have always manage to do my studies regularly as it helps a person to be on toes with the subjects being taught.

  • How did you allot time to different subjects?

I have self made time table for my studies . But i always allot more time to subjects like accountancy , mathematics , statistics because they need more practice. For theoritical subjects, i go through them thoroughly as these once understood can be managed and worked upon post practical subjects. Ihave never joined any coaching classes, its my self study on regular basis.

  • Did you participate in college fests or extra-curricular activities? Do you think a BMS student can manage both studies and extra activities?

I have worked as a volunteer in our management fest of BMS that is COLOSSEUM. I am also a part of the student council of my college.

  • Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?

I feel every student has their own caliber and potential. The students should understand that taking such steps in not a bold or proper step towards life. Every student should make an effort to strive to their best towards any aspect of life and then also if the result is not that fruitful , they should not leave hope and confidence and should try to venture out other things. Every situation that comes across is a part of life and god helps and supports those who can face them and handle every circumstance with courage. So we students must be on our toes, should practice from start and not leave anything towards latter time which definitely helps us to get good results. Most important never loose hope as every individual is different , unique and special and possess different mind frame and interests.

  • Industrial Visits – are they really informative for bms students? Which industries have you visited?

We have been to Karnal , Yusuf Meherali Manufacturing Comapany where we learnt how the different production proccesses goes on and how do the people manage to achieve their targets.

  • Do you think a BMS student is more flooded with assignments, projects and internal exams?

In the starting when i took this course , yes i definitely felt a little burdened with a lot of presentations, assignments etc, now also feel the same but the fact is we as the management students should get use to such curriculum as this is what management teaches us to be more fast, smart towards our work. Also my classmates and i enjoy working on projects as it gives time to us to interact with eachother , know other people better and creates a fun loving bond between we people.

  • Do you like being busy with projects, presentations, assignments and internal exams? Or you would like to be enjoying out with friends all that time instead?

Initially i didnt like but now its fun doing projects as it gives oppurtunity to be with the friends also and simuntaneously work on our assignments and presentations. Overall its a good learning process with the support of our wonderful and hard working faculty.

What changes would you like to bring in management education in India?

I would like the education system in India to be a proper mix of practical as well as theoritical knowledge. As it is not just right to say that it should be fully practical as without proper theory or concepts, its not easy to take decisions relating to different subjects that come across different work you handle.

  • What message would you like to give to the coming batches of BMS students?

BMS is a very interesting, informative, and enjoyable course which teaches you team spirit and handle things in a more smart way. I want to tell each BMS student to never under estimate themselves and be a little more laborious towards their work and own efforts.

  • What are your future plans?

Work for a year and then further studies in MBA Finance.

  • Your Feedback for BMS.co.in?

You guys are doing a very good job for the well being of the students. This site is an aid to students as well as the coordinators and faculty involved with the program.
