• Tell us about yourself?

So, I’m an 18yr old Commerce Student from Mumbai. I joined BMS because I’ve always been interested in subjects like Management and Marketing which are essential parts of BMS. I plan to do an MBA after completing this management course.

• How does it feel to be a Topper of the college in Semester exams?

It feels great. It was quite unexpected actually so I was really ecstatic about it.

• Whom will you credit your success to?

My professors and my parents

• Did you start preparing from the first day of your FY / SY?

No, not at all.

• How did you study for Sem I / Sem III?

I think being a commerce student was a huge advantage that I had for Semester I and that really helped.

• Which are the easy subjects in Sem I / Sem III?

As I was a commerce student in my Junior College subjects like Maths and Accounts were the easiest for me. Business communication and IT are extremely interesting subjects.

• Any special way of writing the answers? Do you write answers in bullet points or in paragraphs?

I always write answers in points.

• How do you crack case studies in theory and practical subjects?

Honestly, that’s one thing which I’m very poor at. I have quite a tough time cracking case studies.

• Did you draw any diagram in any paper? Is it mandatory? Does it help to get more marks?

Sometimes yes. It depends on the subject though. In subjects like IT, drawing diagrams could help.

• Any specific study pattern adopted i.e. timetable / how many hours per subject per day etc.?

Nothing specific, just going through your books once in 2-3 days helps.

• How do you fight against mood swings and distractions during exam preparation?

By believing “This too shall pass”.

• If you are made the Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University, what changes would you like to initiate in Indian education system?

 Definitely bring in more of practical studies than theoretical.

• Many students prepare sincerely but constantly live under fear that they are not from big college / not from English medium and eventually lose confidence. What message would you like to these students?

I think they shouldn’t really get disheartened if they’re not from good and reputed institutions, however having a good command over English is of the greatest importance in today’s times. So, these people should not let it affect their confidence much, but at the same time, work on improving their English.

• Through this struggle and success, what have you learned? What is the wisdom of life and competition? What is your message to the upcoming BMS students?

I think what I’ve learned is that coming 1^st or 2^nd or 3^rd doesn’t really matter, at the end of the day, it’s about what knowledge you’ve gained and how you would apply that in your daily life.

I’ve personally visited BMS.co.in and I found it to be helpful during the time of my admissions as it lists down the top BMS colleges in Mumbai.
