Interview with Nagma Gulam Mohammad Dhanse, TYBMS Sem 5 Topper 2013-14, I.C.S College, khed, Ratnagiri (Maharashtra) who scored74%
How does it feel to be a Topper in the university exams? Whom will you credit your success to? What was your success mantra?
Ofcourse it feels great. I feel proud of myself. The credit basically goes to my teachers, friends and parents. My mantra” Utilizing time by realizing its value.”
Did you prepare any timetable and please share your study strategy/exam tips to crack each subject of sem 5?
No timetable was made by me. I used to randomly select book from my bag.
The only strategy I kept in mind was to make sure all the concepts were clear.
Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?
Personally, BMS students should not require any coaching classes coz ‘self help is the best help’. But don’t forget to have a mentor.
What was your specialization subject? Why did you opt for it?
I opted for special studies in marketing as it is an interesting subject and the only silly reason was that I hate numbers(1 2 3 4 .. get on the ground floor ) !!!
Can you list the textbooks you referred for all subjects?
I referred Reference Books for various subjects like for HRM -Ashwathappa, SSM- C. Bhattacharjee, FM- Thakur Publication, Vipul.
Which was your worst paper? Why? Which was your best paper? Why?
Unfortunately… financial management was the worst and best paper was logistics.
Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?
Don’t study for the sake of only getting passed … study for urself… and even if u get failed .. don’t lose hope as failure is the first key to success. ‘Thumbs up’(aaj kuch toofani karte hai) really helps me to get rid of study stress !!
The Black Book project contributing a significant part to the percentage, please share the experiences you had during the preparation of the project and how has it benefited you.
I collected 100% primary data by one month training. Training is really beneficial for students as it helps in getting future opportunities. If your project is made up of primary data than it helps you to answer all the questions asked by external.
Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS? What are your future plans?
No additional courses along BMS. For now my only plan is to crack 6th sem. !!
Any tips and advises for your juniors?
Behave as a professional … deal with the subjects as a manager …. Accept failure to stand against it…. Finally KEEP CALM & LOVE BMS !!
