- Tell us more about yourself.
I don’t have much to say except that I prefer working hard to achieve what I want and am focused when I set my eyes on a goal.
- Were you expecting to top in the exams? To whom would you credit this success to?
I wasn’t expecting to top. I would credit my topping to my classmates/friends who I used to study with. I would explain to them when they were stuck and solve each other’s doubts.
- Did you prepare religiously from day One or A few weeks before the exams?
Not from day one. I started about 1 and a half month before boards.
- How did you allot time to different subjects?
Yes I had a self-made time table. The number of hours were not decided. It depended on the topics to be covered.
- Can you share some insights on how to crack the subjects before exams?
I used only the textbooks prescribed by my professors. I practised practical subjects like OR, IAPM and IF every day for at least 45 minutes to 1 hour. No subject is easy unless you have read it and understood atleast the basics.
- Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?
I had joined classes for IAPM and IF. They are not a necessity but they are useful to aid practice. They enhance understanding and practice.
- Did you participate in college fests or extra-curricular activities? Do you think a BMS student can manage both studies and extra activities?
Yes. Only studying gets monotonous and dry. With fests and other activities, there is some change and freshens the mind while studying again.
- Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS?
No I didn’t. There was enough to do with the course itself. The only internship I pursued was during my summer vacation.
- Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?
There was no special technique. Committing suicide is not a solution and failure is not an end in itself. I was never stressed because I never actually studied alone. My studying was accomplished while teaching my friends.
- Do you think the number of Industrial visits should be increased for BMS Students? Which industries have you visited?
One IV a semester is good. We have visited various factories like chemical plants, transformer plants, food production units, post office, logistics companies, etc for our IVs as well as projects.
- Do you think BMS students are flooded with assignments, projects and internal exams round the clock? What changes would you like to bring in the BMS Curriculum?
No I don’t think they are burdensome. If given appropriately they provide a better understanding of the subject and a practical application of the theory. Also the tests reduce last minute pressure.
- What message would you like to give to the next batch of BMS students?
They shouldn’t stress about anything. It is no rocket science. Efforts and hardwork is enough to sail through.
- What are the future plans post BMS?
I am currently doing a job and I hope to pursue my MBA someday.
- Any Feedback/Suggestions for BMS.co.in?
I think you’ll are doing a god job.
