Interview with Rukhsar Mubeen Surve, TYBMS Sem 5 Topper 2013-14, A. E. Kalsekar Degree College who scored 74.14%.

How does it feel to be a Topper in the university exams? Whom will you credit your success to? What was your success mantra?

I had been optimistic with my life , too much of fun , too much of precious time I had been when I knew I was stood myself in the crowd of my BMS mates. My credit first of all goes to my ALMIGHTY, my  LECTURERS, my DAD , my SWEET MOM. My credit goes to the people who always knew the worth of my studies in my life. MANTRA meant for – study …..enjoy…..study….fun …..that was my work I used to do.

Did you prepare any timetable and please share your study strategy/exam tips to crack each subject of sem 5?

No, it would be quite strange that I wont had a specified timetable. But , as I  open the book , I studied. The books you refer is quite necessary , which affects your mind. The more heavy book, the more burden you set before you study. So , guys, relax , not compulsory to be a bookworm, understand things.

For instance, objective / functions , features / characteristics  have similar answer in theory.  FM you have to mug up with the practices not with your eye movement but with your hand practices.

Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?

Yup, classes too much necessary for you ,even me. FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT and LOGISTICS was the subject for which I joined NAVIGATOR TUTORIALS. The most amazing , enjoying , and strict TUTORIAL I had been till now my life.

What was your specialization subject? Why did you opt for it?

SPECIAL STUDIES IN  MARKETING – since I had been interested with the business strategical tool, and my father being a business owner, I had watched his way of marketing. So , you can say, I had experienced the living of how marketing is implemented, I had opted for it, and another secret, FM was quite sufficient to handle my accounts expertise.

Can you list the textbooks you referred for all subjects?

SERVICE SECTOR MANAGEMENT – Rishabh publications and Vipul publications

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT – Rishabh publications

BUSINESS ETHICS & CORPORATE GOVERNANCE –  Himalaya Publications, Riya Rupani

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT – tutorial notes

LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT – Rishabh publications

SPECIAL STUDIES IN MARKETING – Rishabh publications

Which was your worst paper? Why? Which was your best paper? Why?

FM – accounting got to be the worst, since the question paper when I saw was able to be attempted by me. As soon as I started,  a point came when I was realizing it’s not that easy.

Service Sector Management – my best paper. The  lecturer MR. TAUSIF of my college was so much with an appropriate knowledge of how to attempt this paper and made my concepts clear, that made me very cozy and relaxed to attempt that paper.

Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?

Its an loser attitude, if a person thinks so , and friends believe me you are not among them , actually no one should think this. Exam can be cleared again but life wont be back for you.

Close your book look around the beauty of world, relax yourself , and when you get an positive energy inside you, start your war again to succeed.

The Black Book project contributing a significant part to the percentage, please share the experiences you had during the preparation of the project and how has it benefited you.

At the beginning, project was an headache for me, but as I visited the company I become familiar with the company supervisor who guided me , and my project guider . their support made me win over to complete my project which took a run of entirely around 2 months for me, Which crashed my studies worst.

STILL THE WINNER , happy for that.

Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS? What are your future  plans?

No. its not my cup of tea, to just walk behind the things and grab all at a time. i focused on my career of BMS only.

Might I go for MMS and MBA in human resource or something like that, still I am building my finance knowledge, as there is no stand of any firm or trade without financial prospects.

Any tips and advises for your juniors?

Friends enjoy hard and when come up to studies be very much conscious for it, concentrate on your weak points improvement and randomly work on other things.
