My name is Saloni Dhond. I am a fun loving person, an optimistic person and very dedicated to my task. I am married and have a baby and have completed BMS handling both family and studies.
Were you expecting to top in the exams? To whom would you credit this success to?
I was expecting myself to be in 1st three college toppers, however 1st rank was not 100% expected.I would credit this success to my college faculty, my family and my friends.
Did you prepare religiously from day One or A few weeks before the exams?
I was going through what was being taught in college on weekly basis, however actual preparation started only a few weeks before the exams.
How did you allot time to different subjects?
I would solve International Finance and OR on daily basis while theory subjects were covered gradually through internal test.
Can you share some insights on how to crack the subjects before exams?
International Finance and OR need daily practice, IF has 20-25 marks practical sums which one must master while IF theory should be studied using logic and not byhearted, IMTP is the easiest subject where thorough knowledge of basic concepts will be enough to write the answers.EM, Retail Management and International Marketing are also easy subjects. For every theory subject with 4 units be thorough with 3 units and you could rush through the remaining 1 unit. Rishabh publication’s books are extremely helpful. Go through all the board papers the will surely help you.
Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?
I had joined coaching classes only for OR, all the other subjects can be studied at home however attending college is a must.
Did you participate in college fests or extra-curricular activities? Do you think a BMS student can manage both studies and extra activities?
No, I did not participate in college fests .Yes, BMS students can manage both studies and extra activities.
Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS?
I was working part time for a travel agency called Neels Holidays.
Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?
Tension before exams is a complete ‘No’, do not keep studies for the last minute start studying from day 1, and this will help to reduce last minute stress. Give time to friends and family and do enjoy for some time. ‘All Work and No Play Makes Tom A Dull Boy’
Do you think the number of Industrial visits should be increased for BMS Students? Which industries have you visited?
My college took us to Silvasa, Shimla and Several other places, Yes industrial visits should be increased as they give a practical exposure to students.
Do you think BMS students are flooded with assignments, projects and internal exams round the clock? What changes would you like to bring in the BMS Curriculum?
No change is required all this makes us more competitive and helps us master time management
What message would you like to give to the next batch of BMS students?
Take both sem 5 and 6 seriously , enjoy your college life as well, Don’t take Tension….All Is well…ALL THE BEST GUYS.
What are the future plans post BMS?
I am currently working for TCS and giving my MCOM exam.
