1) Tell us about yourself?

Hello..Myself Shraddha Salvi. I am currently pursuing my TYBMS from Sathaye College. My hobbies are reading books, playing chess, badminton and Dancing. I find myself inclined towards Finance. And I want to build my career into it. After my TY I am planning to work for 2 years so that I will get practical knowledge along with theoretical knowledge. And later after that I would pursue my MBA in Finance.

2) How does it feel to be a Topper of the college in TY Sem V exams?
It feels really awesome to be a topper. I always wanted to top in my college. And today, it’s like a dream come true..

3) Whom will you credit your success to?

I would like to credit my success to our Coordinator Shashank Pai Sir. I want to thank him for his support and guidance and for helping me whenever needed.

4) Did you start preparing from the first day of your TY Sem V?
I started preparing the subjects which I found most difficult from the first day itself, so that I can understand them better and score more.

5) How did you study for Sem V?
Being attentive during the lectures has helped a lot.
I just focused on the practical subjects more as they are the scoring ones. I understood the concepts well and gave all the tests, prelims to know where I was lagging behind.

6) Which are the easy subjects in Sem V?
According to me Ethics and E-commerce are comparatively easier than other subjects.

7) Any special way of writing the answers? Do you write answers in bullet points or in paragraphs?
I believe writing the answers in bullet points proves to be more beneficial.. The examiner builds a positive image about you and also the answer paper becomes more presentable.

8) How do you crack case studies in theory and practical subjects?
I imagine the given situation and mark the key points in the case. Then I try to analyze them and then find the solution. I frame the answer properly and write it in my own words.

9) Did you draw any diagram in any paper? Is it mandatory? Does it help to get more marks?
Yes. Diagrams definitely help you to get more marks as you can cover all important points of the answer by simply drawing a diagram or flow chart wherever necessary. It becomes less time consuming and your answer becomes more impressive.

10)Any specific study pattern adopted i.e. timetable / how many hours per subject per day etc.?
No specific study pattern was adopted. Solving more an more sums in FM is essential and talking about the theory subjects I guess 3-4 hrs per day is sufficient.

11) How do you fight against mood swings and distractions during exam preparation?
I find time for my hobbies and I take sufficient study breaks to avoid distractions while studying.

12) If you are made the Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University, what changes would you like to initiate in Indian education system?
I would introduce more practical’s subjects like stock markets-commerce, data analytics etc. As these streams have high scope and students can get more practical knowledge. I would introduce more case studies in exams and introduce additional marks of project work for SY and FY students.

13) Many students prepare sincerely but constantly live under fear that they are not from big college / not from English medium and eventually lose confidence. What message would you like to these students?
It does not matter which college or medium you are from. Your future is not depended on these things. If you study and work with complete dedication then there is no stopping. Sky is the limit.

  14) Through this struggle and success, what have you learned? What is the wisdom of life and competition?

I have learned that Hardwork is the only way to be successful. It doesn’t matter what people say or think about you, the only thing that matters is your belief in yourself.
