Tell us something about yourself and your college.
I am an ex-student of this college at the same time I am very loyal and my college having a very positive attitude of management which is the best thing about it. Talking about myself, I have done my triple Masters i.e MBA, MCom and MPhil and right now pursuing my PhD, so just hope that it goes well.
When did you join this profession? What inspired you to choose this line?
I joined this profession in 2008 as soon as I completed my MCom and the one and only inspiration was my mother. She wanted me to take teaching as my career. Another inspiration was our current Vice Principal Rajeshwary Ma’am who gave me a stepping stone to really start up with my career.
As a Coordinator, do you also teach any subjects? If yes, which subjects you teach?
Yes, I do teach various subjects, majority being Management subjects. I teach Principles of Management, Marketing Management, Entrepreneurship Management, Human Resource Management, Public Relation Management etc.
How are the roles and responsibilities of a Coordinator different from that of a faculty? Do you like being a Faculty or a Coordinator? Which helps you to connect more with students?
The role and responsibility is different in just the way of responsibility. It is a more responsible job. It is more of an admin job and of course motivating students to attend lectures (Laughs).
Of course being a faculty helps me to connect more with students.
Who in your life has influenced the most?
(Pause) Being a teacher I’ll give all the credit to all the faculties and also to my parents.
Tell us something about your college fests/events and extra-curricular activities? Do you believe that it should be made compulsory for students to manage both studies and be a part of college fests/events?
Yes, it is very much important because “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. So it is important for students to both attend and participate in inter-college fests and activities so that they can groom their personalities and they know what is going on in the outside world and they understand the reality of it.
Tell us something about your college students’ performances? Does your college provide any placement assistance to students?Â
We do provide placement assistance but majority of our students come from good family background, basically business background, so they prefer starting their own business rather than in-house placements.
What are your future plans for the college?
Good infrastructure should be provided, good Masters programme. Since we are in BMS, we should have proper MBA programmes at the same time we must have more and more interactive sessions, guest lectures and keep the students updated about the current environment.
What are the career prospects after BMS?
Since BMS is considered to be a Mini-MBA so MBA is an important career aspect and BMS having varied activities, it is not only restricted to Finance and Management, there is a huge scope for students to take up HR, Marketing and different areas so it is really an optimistic course I must say.
What message would you like to give to the students?
(Takes a brief pause) Be yourself. Always see to it that your parents and your elders are really important for you and your progress in life, and lastly, Be Confident.
Do you think an online education website can help Bachelor-level students? If yes, can you suggest us which things / sections we can introduce on our websites that will benefit students?  Â
Yes, it definitely can help. We can have a blog where students can get current updates about the particular subjects at the same time we can have groups. There can be BMS groups so that students can interact on various areas, discuss about projects and assignments, how black books are prepared, etc so it can really help students to groom their personality.                                     Â
Thanks on behalf of the readers, we wish you the best for all your future endeavors.
