1) Tell us about yourself?
After completing my std 12 from the Daly College, Indore , I planned to do BMS from one of the top colleges in Mumbai . My scores played a pivotal role in getting into Jai Hind, and I’m really proud to be in this college. I preferred to chose bms as it is known to be a course which gives u an overall exposure to all kinds of subjects under one roof.
2) How does it feel to be a Topper of the college in TY Sem V exams?
I was speechless when I first came to know. Being a topper is indeed a very great feeling especially when you aren’t even expecting it. I just studied diligently, to be honest with absolutely no thoughts of topping.
3) Whom will you credit your success to?
I would like to credit my parents for trusting me enough and giving me all the freedom to come to Mumbai to pursue this course. Secondly all the professors for guiding me throughout and keeping me on my toes with frequent projects and tests. My friends have been a great support. My friends were the ones who pushed me to work hard.
4) Did you start preparing from the first day of your TY Sem V?
Not really. Frequent tests in the college helped me to study from time to time. However, I became completely focused during my prelims.
5) How did you study for Sem V?
I practiced FM and SSF frequently because they were practical subjects and required more attention. For theory subjects I would make my own notes so that it became easier for me to study.
6) Which are the easy subjects in Sem V?
HRM, SSF, FM and Ethics are the subjects i find easy.
7) Any special way of writing the answers? Do you write answers in bullet points or in paragraphs?
I always write all my answers in points. I try giving head points almost everywhere. I feel giving head points is a better way of presenting an answer than a paragraph.
8) How do you crack case studies in theory and practical subjects?
To crack case studies one must be completely thorough with the entire topic. It is important to understand the entire case before attempting any questions.
9) Did you draw any diagram in any paper? Is it mandatory? Does it help to get more marks?
I drew diagrams for some questions. It is not mandatory to draw diagrams but I feel diagrams make for a better presentation.
10)Any specific study pattern adopted i.e. timetable / how many hours per subject per day etc.?
I prepared a time table for the last one month before the boards. I studied according to the time table and before the exams started i was prepared for most of my subjects.
11) How do you fight against mood swings and distractions during exam preparation?
If I am not in a mood to study I do not force myself to study I take a break instead for a while, freshen up and then get back to studying.
12) If you are made the Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University, what changes would you like to initiate in Indian education system?
I would remove the semester system. There is too much to study in one year. It would be easier if instead of 6 semesters there would be only 3 semesters distributed evenly across 3 years. There are so many subjects to study, I would concentrate more on the practical subjects and maybe eliminate certain theory subjects which are not really applicable in the corporate world.
13) Many students prepare sincerely but constantly live under fear that they are not from big college / not from English medium and eventually lose confidence. What message would you like to these students?
It is very important to have faith and confidence in yourself. Being from a big college or being an expert in English is not mandatory to succeed, hard work is. One must be focused and self confident in achieving their goals.
 14) Through this struggle and success, what have you learned? What is the wisdom of life and competition?
I have learnt that nothing is impossible. In an attempt to keep up with my friends I was overwhelmed to surpass them. So it was healthy competition that pushed me to work hard. One does not have to prove anything to anyone; one just has to thrive hard to reach the goal. This is just the beginning.
15) Your feedback for BMS.co.in?
This site has been very helpful to all the students. It has kept us posted about all important information – exam dates; timetable, important questions for all subjects, etc
