Name – Talish Barmare

College Name – R A Podar College

Course Name – BMS

Rank in TY Sem V : 2nd

GPA / Percentage: 83.87

1) Tell us about yourself?

I had taken Science as my stream in Jai Hind College for my 12th but however after some extensive research i realized how dynamic and interesting BMS is. I thus selected BMS for my graduation as it gave me an opportunity to apply whatever i learnt in the form of projects and presentations. I intend to get some Industrial experience at the moment before I choose to study any further.

2) How does it feel to be a Topper of the college in TY Sem V exams?

R A Podar college is a college known to have some extremely smart minds and to be one of the best here is pretty big deal.
3) Whom will you credit your success to?

Majority of this success is due to my parents and teachers in college. Credit to our Principal Mrs. Shobana for making R A Podar College a lovely place to study at.  I would also give special thanks to Mr. Rakesh Sharma, my mentor, whose extensive guidance helped me not only score marks but also improve my knowledge base.

4) Did you start preparing from the first day of your TY Sem V?
It’s not really a must to study from the very first day. But is its definitely important to pay attention in class and listen to lectures because it helps to understand the subject. Once the subject is understood you are almost 70% ready.
5) How did you study for Sem V?

It really differs from person to person. In my case I would just attend lectures and ask questions. Give my 100% concentration in class and once i have understood that subject it just remains with me. I also believe making self notes because it’s much easier to remember something that you have written yourself.

6) Which are the easy subjects in Sem V?

Human Resource Management and Financial Management

7) Any special way of writing the answers? Do you write answers in bullet points or in paragraphs?

Bullet points are the best. It’s easier to remember as well as to write. Also helps to give a good presentation.

8) How do you crack case studies in theory and practical subjects?
Understanding and identifying the concepts hidden in the case. Thats why a case study exists! Its just a simple understanding if you can identify and apply the concepts you have studied.
9) Did you draw any diagram in any paper? Is it mandatory? Does it help to get more marks?

Diagrams wherever required. Otherwise it’s not a mandatory requirement in theory subjects.

10)Any specific study pattern adopted i.e. timetable / how many hours per subject per day etc.?

Not really. I prefer studying for short periods like an hour or two

11) How do you fight against mood swings and distractions during exam preparation?

I go to the gym and train. An hour in the gym really helps me keep fresh.

12) If you are made the Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University, what changes would you like to initiate in Indian education system?

The system is pretty fine. I believe that knowledge in whatever form definitely help you someday. People at times may feel that we are studying something irrelevant but who thought a mobile phone could be used to shop 10 years ago?  Knowledge has applications everywhere.
13) Many students prepare sincerely but constantly live under fear that they are not from big college / not from English medium and eventually lose confidence. What message would you like to these students?

It doesn’t really matter from where you start but what matters is where you finish. If you have self belief then no one can stop you from being what you want to be.
14) Through this struggle and success, what have you learned? What is the wisdom of life and competition?

The greatest competition will always be yourself. You keep growing with each time you better yourself. Always test your limits.

15) Your feedback for BMS.co.in?

Bms.co.in has always helped me with important questions and concepts etc.

Very helpful during exams.
