IT WAS VEER VS ZARA THIS IPL FINALE….I MEAN SRK’S KKR VS PREITY ZINTA’S KINGS XI PUNJAB.
They had a rough start, but managed to qualify their second final in three seasons and ultimately won it. The Shah Rukh Khan owned franchise is only second after Chennai Super Kings to win the crown twice. KKR previously won the IPL in 2012.
Few highlights of the Finale:
® Needing 200 to win, Piyush Chawla hit the most important 13 runs of his life as he pulled Mitchell Johnson for a six off the last delivery of the penultimate over before slashing Parvinder Awana over point to run a victory lap as his delirious teammates joined him.
® Pandey’s 94 off 50 balls was the best as he almost singlehandedly won the match for Kolkata.
® Gambhir and Pandey hit a flurry of boundaries as Kolkata reached 59 for one at the end of the power play.
® Not to forget the four sixes hit by Yusuf Pathan (36) which also was important in the final context of the match.
® Uthappa, with his magnificent batting performances, overtook Maxwell as the leading run-scorer in IPL-7.
KKR’S win was no one man game. Teamwork was the key for this team’s winning glory in the Indian Premier League 7.
