Jai-Hind College – A Day without remembering!

This morning was a bit different than usual, as I had my new college to attend. I woke up early, which was quite unusual especially after the long vacations that had just got over. Many a times we come across events, that remain stuck up in our minds forever. My first day to Jai Hind College BMS is one such event. I had heard from my elders about BMS being really worth experiencing and studying course. I was so very much excited for my first day. As I reached my classroom, I nervously walked up to bench and took a seat. Later quickly made some friends and got along in a conversation with them. Our lectures began at sharp 9 o’clock in the morning starting with Foundation Of Human Skills. A senior student introduced us to professor Shah. What a charismatic professor she is! A notable psychologist and a counsellor. She took our attendance and set us to our very first activity in the BMS course. We were asked to design a new chocolate brand, give it a flavour and a jingle and design its marketing strategy. We were then divided into groups and set to task. We began discussing and came up with a new brand called the “Dhak Dhak  Chocolate”- Always Closer To Heart. We took up advertising as our marketing strategy and enacted an advertisement for it. The other groups also did well. There was group which designed a chocolate called “Wow Cow”. It was very hilarious. We all enjoyed it a lot. After the activity professor Shah asked us to name the skills we were weak at and develop it over the week. After that, we had our Principles Of Management lecture which was taken up by our BMS co-ordinator Dr. Rakhi. She is one inspiring personality. She too set us to an activity. We were to arrange ourselves according to the date and month of our birth date by using actions. This was one awesome activity. The way enacted their birthdates was very confusing and funny too. Once we got ourselves arranged, we were divided into groups of five and given an activity. We were to contributed twenty rupees each and then later divided the money in such a way that no one person the same amount. By doing it, she taught us what management was. With her lecture our first day came to an end. Then we later meet with our seniors who welcomed us warmly and happily and left the college with our new made friends home back. I was very impressed at the friendly behaviour of the students and the teachers. I would always remember this day as it was the “best first day” that ever happened to me.
