18,252 students (7,146 – arts, 5,883 – commerce, 5,223 – science) are expected to appear for Karnataka II Pre-University (PU) exams from Shimoga district. The exams will be held in 32 centres in the district.
The exams are scheduled to begin from 12th March 2014 and end by 27th March 2014.
For science stream, the syllabus has been revised by introducing National Core Curriculum based on CBSE syllabus and this is the first batch taking II PU exams.
Around 10 vigilance squads (1 principal and 3 professors) have been formed in the district to avoid malpractice in the exams.
Also for exams preparation, model question papers with solved answers for physics, chemistry, maths and biology in booklet form has been provided to the students.
