Liability in respect of dangerous goods

In case of dangerous goods like explosives, acids etc the consignor must sufficiently inform the carrier of the dangerous character of the goods. If not, the consignor would be answerable. But even if the consignor is unaware of the dangerous character of goods, he would be answerable. On the other hand, if the carrier is aware of the dangerous character of the goods carried, the consignor is not responsible for any consequent loss.
