Life @ BMS (Pillai’s College)

New beginning

After completing my 12^th in Science back ground, I was open for different courses and different opportunities and challenges. I selected Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) as start for my career. I was searching for some thing interesting as well as challenging at the same time and BMS was the perfect choice. Once I knew what I wanted, I had to select the college and I wanted the preference of nearby to my place as well as convenient for travelling and I had the exact option in front of me – “Pillai’s College of Arts Commerce and Science”. I got admission in Pillai’s College and my new era started.

Dream State

After my admission was done in the Pillai’s, I was very excited about all the college thing and everyday dreamt how it will be going to college and all the people and professors. Each and every passing hour I had a new dream about the college how I will spend my next 3 years and how I will face the nervousness inside me. The feeling inside me was excitement as well as nervousness. In all, it was weird. Had kept in mind, it will be just scary and fun at the same time and just as I had expected the reality was just opposite the college was only fun and exciting every new day. The dream ends and the reality begin.

New Era

Started with my college during the first week of July and was excited to get into the shoes of being a college going guy. The feeling of being in a new environment as well as nervous about the same was a weird feeling. Within few days of the college made few friends and it got more exciting to sit in the lectures. For the first 1 month was scared of my seniors because of ragging but as I knew my seniors more and more it was like they are part of us. It was like every dream true as a college going guy. Had awesome campus with grounds for sports with basketball court and an amazing canteen. It was just like a life any youngster will wish or want in his/her college. It was a new era totally. The seniors were much helpful and supportive than imagined. The professors were like our well wisher they shouted at us but same time believed in us. Our principle was the most incredible person I ever came after. All the students were afraid of him and still respected him the most. He was just as soft as cotton and as hard as coconut. The bunking of lectures and the attending some other field lectures without even getting noticed was all like a dream come true. Playing table tennis during the hours of lectures or having fun in canteen was like a movie in reality. Just like imaging my own life but living in reality.

Just not expected

Just within the day college started, our lectures also started. It was just all new life of back to back lectures and presentations. During my whole 3 years, I must have given 35 plus presentations for every subject. On top of that, we had projects for every subject. It was so hectic but still fun. Every month we had internals and it was like a nightmare for all the students, just don’t know what to write but always had to attempt it. It was all over a new experience and feeling of being in college. Just never expected had to work so hard to achieve something and will have fun at the same time achieving it. That’s life!

Masti Time

There was a place in college called as “OLD CANTEEN”. It was the katta of all the students. Be it morning or afternoon or evening, the place will always be surrounded by groups of students. It was just like a mini-classroom for all the students but with no barrier of fields (streams). During the fest or any program, the college would be worth seeing. The enthusiasm and the energy of the students all over the college is fantastic. Almost every 2 months, we had some or the other fest or program in the college and it will be always something exciting and new just like it’s for the first time. During lectures, I had always thought the students should be always quiet and concentrate but it was just the opposite in reality. We hardly had concentrated or were quiet. Some or the other reason we always had fun and even the professors had always supported us. I learned the most important thing during this period of life “to have fun and masti it’s not important where you are or with whom you are, it’s important how you are”.

Right or Wrong

During college, every thing seems so right but it’s always from one point of view but in reality it’s always the other way round. Every individual has to choice between what’s right and what’s wrong in their life; it may be about friends or relationship or about themselves. The same I felt when I was left alone for a moment in my life with no one around and just as blank as a new born baby. It seems every thing new and scary. I still remember one of my seniors had advised me during my 2^nd year “During first year you will make friends, in second year you will be close friends and in third year you will not even like to see their face”. Believe me when I heard this, my first reaction was a smile but when I personally realized it in my life, it was bliss just because I knew it was coming. It’s not about me or you it’s about every individual. Every one has to take some decisions in life it may be wrong or right but important is you take it rather than running or avoiding the situation. During my all 3 years, I realized life was so easy and simple but we make them complicated just because we expect more and more day by day. Expecting is not wrong but expecting from a wrong person the right thing is wrong.

Conclusion

Life as being BMS students was exciting every passing day and night. It was just perfect in whatever manner and sense I look into it. It has developed me personally as well as emotionally and spiritually. It has even me courage to stand and face my life rather than running and avoiding it. It has taught me every thing about being a management student but as well as it has taught me to be a good person and a gentleman. Life has not been easy for anyone nor me but it has taught to be independent and strong at same time. It has given me my first and most important memories of being a responsible individual in life. Proud to be a BMS graduate from Pillai’s College of Arts, Commerce and Science.
