64,000 TYBCOM Sem 6 students were writing for Marketing and Human Resource management question paper on 4th April 2014 when they were stopped and given a new question paper by their instructors as the paper was leaked on WhatsaApp.
MU had registered a complaint with Mumbai police crime branch which initiated a probe. During the probe, the Cyber Cell Wing and Crime branch Unit VIII reached a student Vishal who claimed to have paid Rs. 3,000 to clerk Rajendra Borade for leaking the question paper.
Rajendra Borade informed the police that he had paid half of the money to head clear Rajkumar Mishra who leaked the paper to him.
On 4th April the college was allowed to see the question paper at 9.30am or so and after that the paper got leaked. This smart guy Vishal had recently met with an accident because of which he wasn’t able to prepare for exams. After the paper got leaked, he informed his friend Prateek who circulated the question paper to other friends on WhatsApp for which Prateek gave Rs. 2,000 to Vishal. All the 4 people in the case i.e. Rajendra Borade, Rajendra Mishra, Vishal, Prateek were arrested under section 408 and section 380 of Indian Penal code and further in-depth investigation is being carried out.
