Make Up Series : Concealer Edition

One of the most important thing which comes during the foundation routine is concealer. 

Foundation plays important role to even the skin tone and creates a base for the rest of the makeup. 

Concealer corrects imperfection which the foundation fails to cover. 

Concealer actually helps a lot in covering imperfections and skin issues one is facing. 

Again same as foundation, Concealer is also targeted to different skin tones, skin types and skin problems. 

Concealer is usually cream based or liquid based.

One can use two concealers, One for under eyes and one for you face. 

Liquid based concealer is ideal for under eyes as it is light in texture and hydrating. It wont crease as much as cream based concealer. It helps to cover dark circles.

The concealer you use under the eyes must be a shade or two lighter than your skin tone to brighten up your under eye area.

Cream based concealer can be used on your entire face except for your under eyes as it will crease due to its heave texture in your fine lines. 

The concealer you use for your face must be exact same color of you skin tone so that it covers all the imperfections on your face properly. 

If you are wearing a liquid foundation make sure to apply your concealer above the foundation rather than underneath or else it will defeat the purpose. 

If you wear concealer before your liquid foundation it defeat the purpose of covering imperfections as it will be erased as soon as you put your liquid foundation.

In case of powder foundation the concealer should be applied first then the powder foundation as the powder foundation will then stick to the concealer properly instead for erasing it. 

One with a very dry skin must avoid using cream based concealer on face, use a liquid based foundation with good coverage. 

As the cream based concealer will cling onto the dry patches of the skin making it patchy. 

Concealer can also be used as an eye shadow base as it conceals any discolouration on your eyelids.

It can be used to lightly on your lips to create a base for lipstick. The color of the lipstick will pop out more than usual this way. 

These are the things one must keep in mind while using or buying a concealer.
