Each and every makeup you use plays and important part of your makeup routine. 

But the most important part of the makeup routine starts from the Foundation. 

Foundation corrects any imperfections on your skin and creates a flawless base for other makeup to go on nicely.

Foundation comes in various shades and types. 

One must keep in mind selecting a foundation is a tricky part. 

Selecting foundation depends upon skin type , skin color, skin tone and sometimes skin problems as well.

Foundation nowadays comes in different types starting from basic liquid foundation to powder foundation to cream based foundation to mousse foundation. 

So selecting foundation becomes tricky, keeping in mind what skin type you have ? 

So here is what one must remember while purchasing a foundation. 

If you have an oily skin then go for powdered foundation which will help you to control oil much better than the liquid foundation and it is easy to work with especially for ones who live in a tropical climate. 

One can wear liquid foundation if they have oily skin but make sure that you purchase a foundation with a matte finish. 

As matte finish foundation will control your oil and it will prevent you from looking oily. 

If you have a dry skin then best option for you is liquid foundation with luminous or dewy finish. As it will keep your skin more hydrated and it wont cling on to your dry patches making it look patchy. 

If you have normal skin then you can wear almost any of the above types of foundation. But if you have sensitive skin you must check the ingredients make sure that it does not have any ingredient you are sensitive to. If you don’t know what ingredients you are sensitive to then go for mineral foundation as most of them work for sensitive skin. 

Selecting a right shade can also be tricky. If you want to buy a foundation make sure that you get a sample from the store to check whether it really matches you skin tone rather than buying a full size and regretting later. 

Test the foundation on your jaw line and if the shade matches and blends well with your skin tone then purchase the foundation. 

Do not buy a shade lighter or darker as lighter shade will make you look grey and darker shade can sometimes make you look too dark or orange. 

Some foundation sometimes have the tendency to change the color. Thats why getting a sample of the foundation you want to purchase then testing it for a day to see whether it changes color or not is important.

Do not make a mistake of wearing a wrong shade as it will look unnatural. Make sure the foundation that you use looks natural on your skin like a second skin. 

If you have skin problems like acne or acne scars, to cover them go for cream based foundation as it will give you more coverage than other foundations. Even liquid foundations with matte finish can work for this issue.

Even though it is a tricky to find a right foundation for yourself but once you have found the foundation which is perfect for you makeup will be even more pretty and beautiful. 

Foundation is the base of every good makeup and looks so do find a right foundation for yourself.
