Mr. Singh is a member of the BJP. Born in 1949 , he is a graduate from Bihar. He is being elected from Purvi  Champaran constituency.He has special interests in doing social work for SC\ST & other backward class. He is a member of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh since childhood.
Mr. Modi played a very big role in helping Singh bring his political career to a bigger level . Mr.Singh is a very hardworking man & has been credited by peers & contemporaries in BJP for his great contribution in uplifiting Bihar from 2006 to 2009.
Mr Singh has also served various committees on ministries of railway, communication , petroleum & natural gas , surface transport & external affairs. His favourite pastime is doing social work. He is a cricket enthusiast & the VicePresident of the association of Bihar, Cricket.
He now holds the portfolio of Minister of Agriculture of India.
