The third merit list for admission to first year undergraduate courses, announced on Saturday, has seen a minimal dip. While there was no merit list at many reputed colleges, those that displayed the third merit list also had a minimal number of vacant seats.
Most of the well-known colleges in the city are already full. There was no third list for Hinduja College. Colleges like NM and Jai Hind announced the third list only to fill up the the few vacant seats.
“Seats for BCom were full right after the first list. We have declared the third list for BMS, BMM and other professional courses but have only around 10 vacancies in each and the drop in cut-off is very low,” said BB Sharma, principal, VG Vaze college.
In the colleges where the third list was declared, the dip in cut-offs was very marginal. While at HR college, the cut-off for BCom dropped to 89% from 90%, the cut-off for commerce students at KC college dropped to 92.80% from 93.40%. Students can secure admission and pay fees on June 17 and June 18 up to 1.30 pm.
