Mumbai University is expert in not only irritating students but this time for a change, MU has breached the authority and asked 144 assistant professors from various departments i.e. English, Sociology, Journalism etc, to report for the election duty inspite of receiving any directives from the collector’s office to do so.
Upset professors have been instructed by a university circular which reads “Failure to comply with this order and the instructions given will render you liable for disciplinary action under section 134 of Representation of the People Act, 1951.”
As per media reports, the university had issued the list on directives of district election officer which is short staffed and teachers have to abide by the university instructions.
