My BMS Experience
After scoring 81% in my HSC boards, I was very excited because i had made my parents proud. But I was very confused about my future and about which career should I opt for.
After many consultations I decided to choose BMS because this is one stream, where there is lot of practical knowledge involved. With my fair amount of score, I could easily make an entry into SIES College of Arts, Science and Commerce. With nervous thoughts in my mind, I proceeded towards the college but as I entered the college there was a different vibe that took away all my worries and with a fresh energy, I entered my class.
There were only 60 students for BMS and it made me feel really special that I was one of them. The class was very warm and welcoming just in the next few minutes I mingled so well amongst them as if I know them from a very long time.
The first lecture began with a short introduction about the college and the course followed by our personal introduction. This not only gave a chance to know each other better but also was a start to remove the fear of speaking openly. Later as the days passed, the syllabus created a lot of interest in me because BMS gave a detailed knowledge of not only how to earn money, but it also gave me an insight about how and where to invest it and how to tackle problems arising out of it. BMS is a full time package of becoming successful. It helps us to know the available opportunities and make them big. BMS is the best combination of subjects which covers the vital contents from varied streams.
BMS needs proper corporate dressing during its presentations hence one starts feeling professional and behaves accordingly. We as a student of BMS have to do lot of presentations in group as well as individual. This motivates team-spirit and self-confidence. BMS trains the students to the corporate level from the start which makes a BMS student different from others in every manner. Every college has their own festival. SIES has VISIONS, in these fests BMS students are given a chance to handle events this gives a rough idea of what their future is going to be like and also to know the last minute problems and not give up and tackle all the difficulties. Also we were given a chance to launch our own product and sell them to the other fellow students this helped us to know the art of marketing. It is not easy to sell a product one needs to have a very strong convincing power which many lack and can be improved.
During our class activities there are difficulties which everyone faces at this time one individual should come ahead and solve them this improves the leadership qualities. When in a class we have our group presentations there are some good speakers and some are shy and hesitate to speak but looking at our own friends performing so well, everyone tries to put their best foot ahead. Â There are fights amongst the fellow mates but one needs to know how to get the work done and involve everyone in the class activities.
BMS helped me make my view clear about specialization for post-graduation and I have decided to pursue my Masters in Finance.
