College life is a life of freedom. I remember my first day at college. I had looked forward to this day from my school days. Life at college meant for me a new life. I was no more a young boy but a young man. I had begun to think myself to be a gentleman with a sense of freedom.
When I entered my college for the first day, I looked around with a mixed feeling of perplexity and joy. The stately building with massive pillars made a deep impression on my mind. I was puzzled as I was not habituated to the ‘college-ways’ of things. The students in batches were moving up and down the corridors for their classes. The professors were coming smilingly and exchanging greetings with the students in a friendly manner.
Our class room was 319, were we first got get-together with all my classmate of management studies. Our HOD Sinimol Joseph was in charge of taking all the attendance of the class, after taking attendance she gave us the nice lecture of college life and discussed the importance of college life. Her lecture thought us many merits as well as demerits in college life. One thing I noted with a sense of relief that I would no longer be confined to the same room for hours together as I used to be at school. The first year of college can be a new and exciting journey for many students. Students can also take on new experiences in their first year of college; it can also come with bumps along the way. As a student he or she must find a way to balance their new life as a college student and their transitions. There will be difficulty transitioning such as adapting to new the new environment, trying to make new friends and difficulty with class work. Apart from all these challenges college life is full of joy and excitements. One should enjoy all the struggle as well fun of college life.
Our second lecture was the business communication. She was the nice and friendly teacher I have ever met; first of all she took all of us introduction and pointed to say the meaning of communication in our views. I answered “communication is the art of expressing our idea’s, expression and knowledge to other”. The next lecture was of the sachin sir who teaches us computer and statistics, sir was little bit strict in the beginning and asked us a question “why u all took BMS ?” one of my classmate replied “sir is, to become Marketing manager”. All of my classmates were having different views and opinions about BMS as a profession.
This was our last lecture, the bell rang and we began to pack up, while leaving we were surprised about our college infrastructure, management of faculty and student –teacher relation.
Overall I am proud that I am a part of it. This is what every student deserves in his or her life, I promise that “I will work hard with full dedication, earn respect in the society and make myself and my parent’s proud.
My first day of college ends with making so many new friends, whole new exciting environment and also being proud as well as happy to be a part of it.
