Narendra Modi creates a Special Investigation Team (SIT) on black money

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his cabinet started their work by starting a meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday afternoon. The cabinet formed a special investigation team (SIT) under two retired supreme court judges to bring black money back  from abroad .justice (retired )M. B. Shah will work as Chairman and on other hand justice (Retired) Arjit  Parsyat will be his deputy.

Director of CBI, RAW, Financial intelligence are the members of the SIT. This indicates the commitment of the new government of India.

In 2012, CBI director Amar Pratap Singh had said than an estimated $500 billion (Rest 29.5 lakh core) of illegal money belonging to Indians is stashed in foreign tax havens like Cayman Island and maturities, generally to avoid the tax. Nearly the next black money transactions are believed to be in real estate. The recently-deposed UPA government after much hesitation had on April 29 disclosed the names and documents of 26 Indians who allegedly have illicit money stashed abroad.

The last of those meetings was with Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, in which both leaders took several steps fin deciding their foreign secretaries would be in touch to discuss how to resume talks suspended since January, 2013. Mr.Modi talked on terror attack and raised the slow pace of 26/11 trial in Pakistan at the 50 minute meeting.

Last but not the least today is the first day of Narendra Modi’s works in the office and he met SAARC leader.
