New Girl! New City! New friends!

New Girl! New City! New friends! And most of all THE BEGINNING OF COLLEGE LIFE!!! WOOHOO!!!

(The new Girl=ME! … Why New City = I am from Dubai).

My 1^st day of BMS College begun with me entering into the college gate (The college where I always wanted to get admissions, not because of its well knows name or reputation, but its rocking crowd and amazing environment)

So it begun this way…. As I entered the college gate, I proceeded towards the ‘Help desk’ at ground floor and inquired for the ‘FYBMS classroom’. I was informed to go to the 1^st floor and check myself. I followed the instructions and climbed stairs to the 1^st floor. As I reached the 1^st floor, I met a cute looking guy, who was filling his railway concession form, inquired for the FYBMS classroom. He very politely replied to please check at the 2^nd floor.

I followed to the 2^nd floor. And the process continued till I ended up asking every student at every successive floor for the FYBMS classroom and climbed stairs till I reached the 6^th floor of my college.

As I reached the 6^th floor, I approached a group of friends, who were discussing about their Accounts project. Requested them to route me towards the FYBMS classroom. And it was unbelievable this time!!! To my shock and surprise, they told me the class will be on the Ground floor. (Are you f****** kiddin me!!! Was my first reaction! 🙁 ).

I sadly climbed down 6 stairs and reached at my initial position. There I was told by someone that lectures for BMS, BAF, BFM & BBI are always on the 6^th floor. (This was the limit!!!. I was terrified as I had to again climb 6 floors. MY bad luck- I wasn’t carrying my college ID, so not allowed to use the lift).

Thus, I ended up reaching the 6^th floor and decided not to ask anyone this time for my class. The funniest part of the whole experience was that I still cant figure out whether it was a prank by the students(Sys and TYs) to misguide me (cos I always asked where are the “FY” BMS classes) and make me to tour the whole college or whether it was my bad luck that that I met only those people who honestly dint know where the BMS classes took place. L

This time I decided to check every class on the floor and not ask anyone. So the 3^rd class which I checked, was a huge one and almost empty, except for 3 people sitting and having a chat. So this was the final time I had decided I will ask “Where are the FYBMS classrooms”?????.. One of the guys sitting, replied “WE are from FYBMS as well and we too are looking for our classroom”. To my relief, finally the “treasure hunt” was over and I found my “treasure” (class and few classmates).

18^th of June, 2012 was the day- the 1^st day I met my BMS friends. We greeted each other and introduced ourselves.

(In those initial days when I had just come to Bombay, I was amazed to see Mumbaikars travelling from so far for their work places, etc. So out of fascination, I asked almost every person where they reside.)

So, I asked one of the people in the class, where she resided. To my surprise, she replied ‘BORIVALI’ and I almost got a mini heart attack and I failed to understand why she chose a college, which is located at the other extreme of the city.  Then I asked the next guy, he replied ‘COLABA’….. and my reaction was “WTF!!.. Why do guys travel so much????…. I was terrified to learn  that people waste plenty of time in travelling. (In those days, I wasn’t very familiar with Mumbai areas and assumed Colaba was somewhere near Borivali… Hehe!!)

The girl out of curiosity asked me, “do you live right next to the college building?” We had a laugh at this and I said her my address, which is just 2 stops away from my college location.

We 4 then planned to go to Marine Drive and chill. One of the guys of our group was from Chennai and he kept appraising his city all the time. Hehe!! He wasn’t very fluent in Hindi too. I said we will once take a tour in the ‘Mumbai Darshan’ bus and discover different areas in the in the city. After some time, it started raining and we had to leave, so we departed to our respected homes.

A memorable day of my life – ‘My first day of BMS College’.
