Interview with DHANESH B. PARIKH, TYBMS Sem 5 Topper 2013-14, M.K. Sanghvi College of Commerce and Economics who scored 79.14% and GPA score is 6.86
How does it feel to be a Topper in the university exams? Whom will you credit your success to? What was your success mantra?
Quite honestly I wasn’t expecting to top the college. The credit goes to all the people who are a part of my life. There is no success mantra or anything for me it’s just if we have a clear vision and goal we can achieve anything in life. ‘Nothing is impossible in life’
Did you prepare any timetable and please share your study strategy/exam tips to crack each subject of sem 5?
I didn’t prepared any time table as such because I was regular in my college as well as classes so. The best exam tip or strategy to crack each subject will be to practice your practical subjects daily if possible and theory subject’s atleast month before exams.
Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?
Yes, coaching classes are very helpful only for practical subjects like fm and ssf. For theory there is no need to join any classes.
What was your specialization subject? Why did you opt for it?
My specialization subject was finance. I opt for it because I was good at mathematics and I thought it will be quite easy compared to marketing a theory subject.
Can you list the textbooks you referred for all subjects?
I referred Rishabh publications and Vipul publications textbooks for all subjects.
Which was your worst paper? Why? Which was your best paper? Why?
My best paper was SSF because the sums were quite easy and nice. My worst paper was FM because the sums were little difficult and tricky.
Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?
Students must keep in mind that exam and marks are not the end of the world and parents must also not compare performances and force their children to excel. Life is a precious gift of god doesn’t insult it by committing suicide. I didn’t use any special techniques for stress management I used to enjoy with my friends and concentrated on my studies too.
The Black Book project contributing a significant part to the percentage, please share the experiences you had during the preparation of the project and how has it benefited you.
Yes, the black book project is contributing to a significant part of my percentage.
There was an awesome experience making this project and got a vast knowledge of my topic while preparing it.
Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS? What are your future plans?
No I didn’t take up a course or internship but one can do so. My future plans are doing MBA from abroad if possible or in India.
Any tips and advises for your juniors?
Enjoy your college life with friends but start studying regularly or else you will get flooded with all portions at year end. The portions are very easy if you keep in touch yourself with studies. As I said before “NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE…”
