Interview with ROMA JAMUNADAS PURSWANI, TYBMS Sem 5 Topper 2013-14, CHM (CHANDIBHAI HIMATHLAL MANSUKHANI COLLEGE) who scored 83% and ranked 1st in Thane district.
How does it feel to be a Topper in the university exams? Whom will you credit your success to? What was your success mantra?
I felt very happy on that moment when I came to know that I am the topper of CHM college. Actually from 11th std my dream was to come 1st rank in my college but somewhat I got less marks than first ranker. The credit of my rank goes to my college as well as classes teachers and my parents always supported at every moment.
Did you prepare any timetable and please share your study strategy/exam tips to crack each subject of sem 5?
I won’t study daily the theory subjects but practical subjects are practiced daily. I request students to attend college as well as classes lectures daily because that supports a lot. I always used to study theory subject in morning 4.30 when all other people are sleeping.
Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?
Yes bms students should join coaching classes for practical subjects. Because college can’t cover all sums practice in class and practical subjects need lot of practice. I joined satnam classes of Ulhasnagar for two subjects i.e fm and ssf.
What was your specialization subject? Why did you opt for it?
I elected for specialization in finance because I like practical subjects and lot of knowledge we gain from finance subject & also because of scoring subject.
Can you list the textbooks you referred for all subjects?
I referred Vipul prakashan for SSF, service, HRM. For FM, I used classes notes, For ethics seth publication is good and for logistics I used rishab.
Which was your worst paper? Why? Which was your best paper? Why?
My worst paper was fm because I practiced a lot in that subject but didn’t completed the paper on time and lost my opportunity of getting highest marks in my favorite subject.
My best paper was ssf because that also is practical subject so I love to solve paper from my heart and even in got 93 marks in ssf.
Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?
I request students please don’t commit suicide, if you are not successful or not getting satisfaction result then too doesn’t matter because one result won’t change your life and in future your practical knowledge is judged and
Yes I do meditation once a week for controlling my stress and when I am stressed or short tempered I sit quite in my home temple and just talk with my Sai baba ji and everything will be fine soon.
The Black Book project contributing a significant part to the percentage, please share the experiences you had during the preparation of the project and how has it benefited you.
The black book project boosted my 2% because I got 95 marks in that project and very happy that university had given marks rather than grade in black book. This all is possible because of efforts of my project guides and seniors who helped me to make that project best, I selected my favorite topic “Spirituality at work place” and learned number of spiritual things from my project and learn to live happy life.
Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS? What are your future plans?
No i only focused on ty bms, because I don’t want again to give my rank opportunity to other one.
Any tips and advises for your juniors?
I advise my juniors just make your time table for studies and don’t think you have to study full day, friends you enjoy your full day with friends, whatsapp etc. Only give your 2 hrs a day to studies. The happiness you get from rank is the best happiness ever you get in life. Your parents, your friends, teachers proud to have you. my result day was the best day ever came in my life.
