Interview with Kaushik K. Warang, TYBMS Sem 5 Topper 2013-14, N.E.S. Ratnam College who scored 76%.

How does it feel to be a Topper in the university exams? Whom will you credit your success to? What was your success mantra?

–         Its great actually, no success mantra as such, but yes motivation from friends and family worked for me.

Did you prepare any timetable and please share your study strategy/exam tips to crack each subject of sem 5?

–         For practical subjects ‘Practice n Practice n Practice’ , Writing and Memorising, I tried to remember my topics through examples that I can keep in my mind.

Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?

–         It depends on the student. Yes, I had joined coaching classes for my sem v.
What was your specialization subject? Why did you opt for it?

–         Special Studies in Finance (SSF), I prefer practical subjects than theory.

Can you list the textbooks you referred for all subjects?

–         Rishab Publication and Vipul’s.

Which was your worst paper? Why? Which was your best paper? Why?

–         HRM was the worst coz I didn’t completed the paper the way I wanted, and SSF was the best as I had prepared well for it.

Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?

–         Just be calm and work hard, live for your loved ones. No special techniques, its just that don’t take stress, difficult times shall pass.

The Black Book project contributing a significant part to the percentage, please share the experiences you had during the preparation of the project and how has it benefited you.

–         Yes, the project was very helpful as I got much information relating to my topic. Preparing the project was nice experience i.e the company visits and primary data collection.

Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS? What are your future  plans?

–         No, I did not pursue any additional courses alongside BMS. I have got selected in Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd in campus recruitment, so looking forward to it.

–         Prepare yourself in the best way. Be positive. Enjoy your college life.
