“Na chor haryam, na raaj haryam, na bhratra bhajyam na cha bharakaari,
vyaye krate vardhate eva nityam, vidhya dhanam sarva dhan pradhanam”
Meaning: The wealth that cannot be stolen, neither abducted by state, nor can be divided amongst brothers, Neither it is burdensome to carry,The wealth that increases by giving, That wealth is knowledge and is supreme of all possessions
It is rightly said,
When I go back to the olden memories of my life, the sweet moment was my first day at BMS where I first time met in first lecture of BMS – Prof. Khyati Patel, a very friendly and calm person. She has completed her M.Com (Financial, Accounting & Auditing) and M. Phil(E- Banking) from Madurai Kamaraj University. She is the one with whom you can feel free to ask any kind of doubts. Right now she is not a part of our college but she has been a very important person in 2 years of our journey to T.Y.B.M.S. She works as a full-time faculty in our college. She had set a principle for herself which went like this “I want to reach greater altitude by being honest, sincere and hard worker”, which inspired me a lot and even I adopted this principle from the beginning of my path to graduation. This has been a very good thought which I had learned in my life.
On the first day of our college where we had a fear of facing the new world, new phase of our life, she made us feel cosy and required. She welcomed us and made us feel comfortable in the graduation world. She taught us the subject Principles of Management in first year. She kept the corner stone of Management in my hearts by teaching this subject and I remember every each and every lesson taught by her. First semester was the time where I came to know about her commitment towards her work. Her devoir for her subject was seen through her teaching ability as she made the subject feel not burdensome.
In second year of my BMS when I came to know about the subject Marketing Management, I had a fear about this subject as I never thought of getting into marketing field any time. I had always thought marketing was not my piece of cake. Khyati Mam made us comfortable with the subject and taught us so well that I slowly started building interest in the subject. BMS without presentation is like flower without fragrance. The topic given by Mam for this subject was really innovative and made us crack our brains. The topic was Marketing of any Product. This topic made us think out of box. It gave us a chance to know the real us. It helped to bring a unique perspective of our thoughts which we had never done earlier. It helped us to dive out of the pool of reserved thinking and it was a challenge to our creativity. The topic was really challenging she knew it, but she wanted us to do something what we had never done before. This gave us an opportunity to bring out talent in us. Guidance towards the making of the project was provided by her without any partiality. She has great ability to diagnose the situation and aid in the problem. She was impartial, fair minded person, unbiased towards any of the student. This made her a faculty of choice, my favourite one. Every day she had something new to tell, to teach. Under her guidance we got exposure to new and varied topics. She gave assignments from which we could learn some great things, a lesson of life like how a person should be. She can be a role model to any person who wants to achieve great heights in life by pure means.
Our college every year conducts a fest named GENESIS. She was the co-ordinator of the fest during our S.Y.B.M.S. She was the one to guide usher to varied and new thoughts. She gave us a freedom of thoughts which gave us opportunity to show our dexterity in the fest. During the fest I had been injured on my right knee and was not able to attend personally the fest preparations. She knew my interest in Genesis and didn’t make me feel left out and gave me to prepare a presentation of the events to be presented to Principal which were to be conducted in the fest. I felt as if I was part of it. This was an emotional and a very unique experience in my academic life of BMS.
Khyati Mam has been a very essential person in my academic life, as she has been my role model, my light in darkness, a friend, a philosopher and that one person in my life to whom I will always thank for placing foundation of Management in my life. Khyati Mam always felt to be herself a good person and then teach her students. I remember a line which she always followed ,
“What the teacher is, is more important than what he teaches.”
