Meaning: Guru is verily the representative of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. He creates, sustains knowledge and destroys the weeds of ignorance. I salute such a Guru.
Guru can guide us to the supreme knowledge of THAT which pervades all the living and non-living beings in the entire Universe (namely Brahman). I salute such a Guru.
The Guru has neither beginning nor end; the Guru is the ultimate God (in the visible form). There is nothing beyond this Guru principle, and I salute such a Guru.
Even though it may sound like a cliché, teachers touch lives and shape future. These are the shlokas which symbolizes a true teacher. Sometimes in our life, we meet a special person who leaves everlasting impressions on our minds. He may have said or done something that really touches our souls. We will probably never forget that person because we owe the most part of our identity to him. Without him we might never have become the persons we are today. He may have been there for us when we were immature. He may have helped us to understand and learn better. He has motivated us to greater achievements.
Teacher is the one who plays an important role in our lives. He imparts us good knowledge so that we could become successful in our respective lives. He not only informs us about subject related knowledge but also shows the right path which leads us to success. A teacher is a compass that activates the magnets of interest, knowledge, and wisdom in the pupils. A true teacher is a reward of God. The good teacher makes the poor student good and the good student superior.

Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.” The teacher imparts education hence the role of the teacher is of paramount importance both in the present and the future of a student.
Teachers serve the society by instructing and guiding countless students through the different stages of their growth. They prepare them to take on the world which they are a part of. The teacher must play different roles in a student’s life. He must be his friend stirring him clear from murky waters, he must be his guide helping him find his true calling in life, and he must be a philosopher enlightening his young audience about the ways of the world.
My teacher and my inspiration is Prof. Shagun Matoo, Professor at Bhavans College, Andheri, for the Department of Management Studies. A Bachelor of Arts in Economics and has done her Masters in Human Resources. Her teaching experience is not that much but she has already started to enlighten young minds.
I love her, respect her and like her the best. She has left a permanent impression on my mind by her affection, convincing power, high personality and admirable teaching method.
She is our friend, philosopher and guide. She not only observes dutifulness and strictness but also combines in her a number of other qualities. She is endowed with scholarship, love for teaching, capacity to create interest in her subject, inherent earnestness to see her pupils really educated and improved in character.
She carries out her responsibilities fully without fear of favor and strictly enforces the rules of study and conduct. Prof. Shagun Matoo has many virtues of ideal women with a high sense of humanity. So she has easily earned the genuine love and admiration of all right thinking minds. She and her students are bound much by the ties of the same relation as between a Sister and her Brother. She not only teaches but also tends them. That is to say, she is a tutor, a mother, a sister and a friend to her students. She takes loving care of her students in all matters of importance.
As for example, she looks after their education, helps them in distress. If a boy is lacking in studies, he is sure to get help from Prof. Shagun.
Her method of teaching is very easy and lucid. She has a strong, clear and pleasant voice. Every day she teaches us in a new style.
She knows well how to increase the curiosity of the students. If any student cannot understand she becomes very friendly to him and makes him understand that. She is a good organizer. All students love and admire her very much. The word “NO” doesn’t exist in her dictionary. It means she is a person who never says ‘no’ to any student seeking any help in education. She also guides her students those who are willing to take up higher education in India and abroad. Her personality attracts me much. She is my ideal. If I would want to be a teacher, I would like to be like her.
