BACKGROUND
Rajeev S. Dugal – Born in a family of seasoned businessmen, spent a part of his childhood in Burma before coming to India in 1967.
•Later he completed his higher education from Delhi and his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from (XLRI).
•Dugal joined his father’s business in 1982 when he was only 23. His father owned a small industry — Steel City Metal— which was an ancillary unit of Tata Motors.
•Later in 1987, he applied for land to Adityapur Industrial Area Development Authority (AIADA) and set up his own unit — JMT Auto Limited — at Adityapur industrial area in the Seraikela-Kharswan district.
•Dugal’s industry has two units — one in the first phase while the other at seventh phase in the Adityapur industrial area. He set up his business unit with an initial investment of Rs 50 lakh, of which Rs 40 lakh was a bank loan. He started with about 30 employees, and now his industry feeds the families of about 350 employees.
•No. of employees – during starting time was around 30 unskilled – currently have 350 employees
•Currently planning to produce – sheet metal parts , Roker lever assembling, etc.
•Currently planning in a big way to export the products to other countries such as USA and Germany.
