1)  Tell us about yourself ?

My name is SHUBHANKAR BRAHMA. I am currently in the Second Year BMS studying at K. P. B. Hinduja College of Commerce. I joined this internship programme as i wanted to learn more about Social Media. My teacher Shital Modi maam motivated me as it was through her that i came to know about this.

2)      How was the experience of working as a “Social Media intern” at BMS.co.in? What are the key learnings?

The experience was fun, but at the same time was very helpful too. It had a strong and positive impact, both on my personal as well as academic life. I learnt a lot of things. Some things were completely new for me, especially Digg and Pinterest.

3)      What do you mean by marketing? Tell us about a time / describe a situation when you have proved you have better marketing skills in the internship programme.

Marketing, according to me is nothing but promoting or advertising any service. I think i proved that i have good marketing skills when i had to promote articles at various social networking websites. Since, i as an intern, was regularly updating and promoting the site on different social networking websites, it formed the base to show search engines like Google that we are a socially active website.

4)      What are the most important values you demonstrate as a Social Media intern of BMS.co.in?

The most important values or aspects i demonstrated as a Social Media Intern was the marketing, online promotions, and brand management. By demonstrating these values i tried helping the company.

5)      What is the most difficult part of being a Social Media intern at BMS.co.in?

I won’t say difficult, but it was a disappointing effort made by me during the second half of the internship programme wherein i had to interview the students. I couldn’t really concentrate on it much as my internal examinations were going on. Another phase was the Content Writing competition. I managed to get only 3 entries, which turned out to be a challenging task for me.

6)      What is your greatest strength and weakness as a Social media intern?

My greatest strength is that i like communicating with people and it was because of this programme, i got to interact with a lot of people.

7)      What are your favourite books? (if any)

I love to read books related to Science, History, War and Sports. Some of my favorite books are TECHNOLOGY OF THE GODS, CALL ME A GOOD THIEF, and SHARKMAN SIX.

8)      Favourite films?

There are many but my personal favourites are AMERICAN SNIPER, TRANSFORMERS (all), IRON MAN(all MARVEL and DC movies actually), and STAR TREK.

9)   Favourite Music?

In English i love to listen to LINKIN PARK, EMINEM, SIA and MAROON 5. In Hindi i like ARIJIT SINGH, BENNY DAYAL and SHAAN.

10)   Give us 3 “Good to know” facts about you?

1) I am a FOOD LOVER.

2) Apart from studies, I am a good Football player.

3) Most importantly, i believe that i have good leadership skills and can solve the given task effectively.

11)   What next after the BMS.co.in internship programme?

I am very grateful to BMS.co.in that they took me as an intern. It was an experience which i would love to share with everyone. As of now, i haven’t decided anything.

12)   What changes would you like to bring in the BMS.co.in internship programme?

None. I think that the current internship programme is just brilliant. It has each and every aspect to bring out the best in any student.

13)   Through this struggle and success, what have you learned? What is the wisdom of life and competition? What is your message to the upcoming interns of BMS.co.in?

My message to the upcoming interns will be that Wisdom can’t be acquired simply through reading books; knowledge is one thing, wisdom is quite another. The times have changed. Today’s generation is much more active and competitive. Wisdom derives from more mistakes and failures than success. So don’t be disheartened by your failures as Parvathy maam told me once that “THE MORE TIMES WE FAIL AT SOMETHING MEANS WE ARE LEARNING.”
