Interview with Bhakti Dhairyawan, TYBMS Sem 5 Topper 2013-14 of Guru Nanak Khalsa College who scored 82% and GPA score 7.00
How does it feel to be a Topper in the university exams? Whom will you credit your success to? What was your success mantra?
Well it is overwhelming and the entire credit goes to my college professors. They have been extremely supportive of me whenever any kind of guidance was needed from them. Studying regularly is my success mantra.
Did you prepare any timetable and please share your study strategy/exam tips to crack each subject of sem 5?
I have never followed any kind of time table system although it is a good practice. I always try to complete my portion before time because I don’t believe in last minute studies. As far as Sem 5 is concerned all the subjects are manageable.
Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?
It depends on person to person I felt a need to join classes for financial management and special studies in finance since these 2 subjects require special attention but remaining subjects are self study.
What was your specialization subject? Why did you opt for it?
I had opted for special studies in finance for the simple reason that I wish to pursue my career in financial field.
Can you list the textbooks you referred for all subjects?
Financial management- Vipul prakashan
For Rest- Rishabh publication.
Which was your worst paper? Why? Which was your best paper? Why?
Well when I had attempted financial management paper I thought it was my worst paper but when the results were declared it turned out to be the best.
Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?
Being a student myself I can truly understand exam fear and pressure but I would strongly criticize suicide cases out of failure because if you are prepared before hand there is no scope for any kind of depression. No special efforts as such for stress management.
The Black Book project contributing a significant part to the percentage, please share the experiences you had during the preparation of the project and how has it benefited you.
It was a first-hand experience and it will also add value to our bio-data if we have substantial research analysis in relation to the project. I would advise all to take it quite seriously.
Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS? What are your future plans?
I had worked as an intern with media research and study centre which was through my college. I wish to pursue MBA in finance in near future.
Any tips and advises for your juniors?
I would like to wish all BMSites good luck for their future and would advise them to set a mission, gather objectives and walk down to fufill the mission.
Thank You!!!
