Manchester United will play Sunderland away from home in their second match of Barclays English Premier League 2014-15 season. Man Utd have been subject of a lot of criticism alongside United’s new boss Louis Van Gaal after getting defeated at home against Swansea City. Manchester United fans are the most worried about their club, even the likes of Paul Scholes saying that he fears for his beloved Man Utd. There is a lot of negativity going on at Old Traffor but the only man who has the responsibility to make things happen is Louis Van Gaal, alongside players and Ed Woodward.
Ed Woodward is responsible for United’s transfers and till now he has seemed incompetent just like last season. United had only bought Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera who both are injured for this game and after the defeat of Swansea United did rush and buy defender Marcos Rojo from Sporting Lisbon who might be unavailable for this game if he doesn’t get work permit on time. Good news for United fans is that star striker Robin Van Persie will be back in action this Sunday and Antonio Valencia is expected to start the game at the right wing back.
Overall United’s attack is still strong even after seeing so many players unavailable as Rooney, Mata, Van Persie will be there, Midfield will be a huge issue if Herrera doesn’t play then Cleverly and Fletcher will probably have to start the game. At the defense we might see the same back three we saw last weekend but United have finally bought a defender in Marcos Rojo who will be a huge boost for Red Devils.
Louis Van Gaal’s men need to deliver a victory in this game anything else will become devastating for United and their motivation for a successful recovery campaign. I think Manchester United will step up the gear as they know that the stakes are high and may clinch a hard fought victory against Sunderland and bring a bit of positivity around United fans who will want more from their players.
