EVENT DETAILS
T10 grand prix – This is a one of its kind event that we have come up with for Talaash 2010
since no other college fest has hosted a Grand Prix ever before. We plan to have the Grand Prix in a
format which is on the lines of the actual Grand Prix held internationally with a preliminary
qualification round followed by the race. The format is approved and supported by Speedster Racing,
a company which organizes Go-Karting Championships at the national level. This pulsating
encounter between colleges will be held over 3 weekends with the winner emerging on the last
weekend. This is a great opportunity for the sponsors to carry out their PR exercise since there will be
large projectors set up displaying sponsor logos and commercials as well. Since the T10 Grand Prix is
set to be held at the Hakone Go-Karting Circuit at Hiranandani Gardens in Powai, the sponsors will
enjoy large-scale publicity on account of the large number of people thronging that area on weekends.
Carnival day– The Carnival Day is a sort of a Fun Fair where all
the college students come to experience the fun and frolic of the games being conducted and stalls held
there. The Radio Club will be the venue for the Carnival Day . The Radio Club is
a perfect place to have banners and standees in large numbers due to the availability of space. Here
too, there will be a projector set up showing sponsor logos and commercials. In addition to that, every
half an hour announcements will be made to credit our sponsors.
Treasure hunt and academic event round 1 – The Treasure Hunt is the USP of
Talaash since initially it all started with a Treasure Hunt in 1999. Since then, there have been quite a
few transformations in the Treasure Hunt for the better. It tests the participants’ knowledge about
Mumbai since its held all over the city between Nariman Point and Bandra. They can use their private
cars going around the city completing tasks and procuring clues to reach their destination. Here,
Talaash stickers bearing sponsor logos will be stuck on their cars giving the sponsors even more
visibility. For the Treasure Hunt, around 1000 participants turn up every year. Also, an exclusive
event for the sponsor will be included in the 1st round of the Academic Events.
Academic event-finals – As has been the norm in previous years, we plan to host the Final
Round of the Academic Events at the World Trade Centre, Cuffe Parade. Here standees of the
sponsors will be put up in the corridors and rooms where the events will be held. Since the past 5
years we have been hosting an event called EVD (last year known as Psych-Out) at night-clubs and
pubs all across the city such as Bling, Red Light, Not Just Jazz By The Bay etc. This time as well, we
will have this event in a nightclub where posters of the sponsors will be put up subject to permissions.
Mini Olympics – The Talaash Mini Olympics will host all the sporting and athletic events such
as track events, shot put, javelin throw etc. The venue for the Mini Olympics is the University
Ground at Marine Lines. Being as big as a football field, it is possible to have standees displayed all
over the Ground which will be visible to the spectators sitting on the stands. Another advantage of this
location is that all the Western line trains pass by the University Grounds giving added visibility to the
sponsors from train commuters as well. A projector will also be put up here subject to permissions.
Special events– c.s. & mock stock market – The Mock Stock Market will be held in
college itself wherein students will “invest” in the Mock Stock Market and indulge in trading of shares
which forms the very essence of a management festival. Also, the CS (Counter-Strike) Tournament
will be held in a Cyber Café connected by LAN. Here, the students will compete on what appears to be
the most popular game amongst teenagers.
Cultural day – The Cultural Day is literally the king of days since it all bogs down to this day
in determining who will lift the coveted Talaash trophy. In previous years, the prestigious NCPA
Theatre has been the venue for this Cultural Day which has events such as Dance, Drama, Fashion
Show, Personality Contest etc. Here too, there will be a projector set up in the auditorium showing
sponsor logos and commercials. In addition to that, every half an hour announcements will be made to
credit our sponsors.
