Remember one of those window shopping trips where you went through the collection of several up-to-date latest collections of dresses? The designs, patters and style of one piece were better than those of other. All those styles were “in” at that time, but even long after the trip, more than the latest styles, what lingered in your mind was a stylish but simple little black dress, without many frills, designs and complications?
Or maybe a casual party where the girls some of most fashionable and “in” colour combinations, but a girl, in a simple blue jeans and a plain white ganjee also managed to grab your attention, although she wasn’t wearing something that was the trend of the season? Or do you remember a wedding reception with men wearing designer and opulent kurtis and sherwanis but the charm of a man wearing a “bandhgala suit” was irresistible?
Well, now that’s the simple concept of “classic dressing”. Old, can sometimes indeed be gold. We all like experimenting with the latest trends, having a fashionable and huge wardrobe etc, but then the charm of classic dressing is something that never goes out of fashion. In fact, with so much of fashion followers around, a person with classic dressing comes across like a fresh breeze of air. The best thing about classic dressing: you can almost never go wrong with them. Here is a list of my favorite classic dressing trends:
For Her:
1. Blue jeans and a plain white singlet
2. A little black dress with minimal sheer fabric
3. Well-tied cotton sarees in formal appearances
4. Floor length single shade evening gown, either flowing ot with a high/medium slit
5. Medium/High waist pencil skirt in dark colour with a white shirt, either cotton or sheer
6. Tailored knee length dresses in pastel or solid shades
For Him:
1. Blue jeans and a White formal shirt.
2. Black trousers with a white shirt having black stripes
3. Bandhgala suits
4. An all black well-tailored suit
