1) If you are an 12th Class student of HSC/CBSE Board, you need to have scored atleast 75-80% to get admission in top commerce colleges in your city.

2) Skills required : Good communication, aptitude for banking, sales and marketing, know-how of trading in stocks, mutual funds, hedge funds etc.

3) If you are a graduate (from science / commerce / arts) who wants to get into the banking sector, then start preparing for CAT / CMAT / MH-CET in order to get into a top Business school in your city.

4) What do you learn in the Banking programs at graduate and post-graduate level? – HRM in Banking organizations, Equity Debt, Environment and Management of Financial Services, Effective Banking Communication, Quantitative Techniques in banking, Taxation of Financial Services, Cost accounting, corporate laws governing capital markets, etc.

5) If you wish to directly apply in Nationalised and Private banks after graduation, you need to be really strong in mathematics, analysing  numbers, able to communicate effectively, good command over English language, updated with news related to banking and computer awareness. This is required to crack the banking entrance exams and personal interviews to get a job into any bank.

6) Fees range from 10k to 5  lakhs depending on the college and course you select. You can opt for diploma/full time graduate / full time or part time post graduate courses.

7) Job positions in banking sector include sales officer, personal loans, mortgages, collection and back office operations. Pay scale varies from 8k to 8 lakhs depending on the experience.

8) Banks like SBI, ICICI, HSBC, Kotak Mahindra, HDFC, Standard Chartered, Barclay’s and American Express recruit banking students at all levels every year.

9) You need to assure the interviewer that you are a target-oriented person who loves working extra hours every day. You need to be thorough with accounting and financial skills.
