An Interview with Priyanka R. Maurya, TYBMS Sem 5 Topper, Bharat College of Commerce and Science (70.50%)
I am a friendly and nature loving girl. I am practical + emotional. I am self-confident and consider my family my world. I was expecting to top in the exams because I was the 1st ranker in SYBMS and I worked hard to be a TY topper. I didn’t prepare from 1st day of the semester but one month before exams, I became serious about my studies. I used to wake up at early morning and studied. I had even made a important key-book for all subjects. I didn’t follow any self timetable but all depends on my mood. Sometimes I used to study the concept and sometimes long questions. I used to solve practical problems in night or whenever I got bored. I think students should have more concentration on practical subjects because it helps to score good marks. I had joined coaching classes only for Financial Management and Special Studies in Finance. I think students should join classes as practice makes man perfect. Whenever I get stressed due to the pressure of exams/studies, I talk to my mom, listen to music or go for a walk. I feel industrial visits should be increased as it provides lot of corporate knowledge of the industry functioning which is essential for management students. I have visited 3 industries – Nandini dairy milk company Bangalore, Karnataka automobile company Bangalore and Infosys IT industry Pune. I don’t think there are any changes required in the BMS curriculum. I feel students should have time to manage different things together. Work hard for your studies and don’t fear for the exams. Be serious about yourself and your studies as today’s hardwork is tomorrow’s success. I am planning to do ICWA in future. I think BMS.co.in is a very useful website for BMS students and provides right guidance to the students.
