Rajiv Ratna Gandhi was born on 20 August 1944 and died on 21 May 1991. He was the 6th Prime Minister of India who served the country from 1984 to 1989. He assumed office after the assassination of his mother, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on 31 October 1984 and on the same day he became the youngest Prime Minister of India.
