“Mardi Gras” is celebrated on 4th March 2014 before Ash Wednesday and final day of 3-day period of Carnival. It is an occasion of great festivity and merrymaking and celebrated in many countries with different names and durations. Mardi Gras is basically a Catholic holiday but today is celebrated as a party for everyone in United States (New Orleans and other parts of Louisiana which introduced this tradition). In the year 1699, the French explorers celebrated the holiday on the Mississippi River and over the years the celebration has got national attention with many parades and parties. The celebration still has its original French influence and celebrated with much fanfare in many parts of the US and also all over the world in places like Belgium, Brazil, the Caribbean nations, Colombia, France, Germany, Guatemala, India, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
