It’s really hard to be a vegetarian in India. Day in and day out, you’re bombarded with all sorts of moronic questions and comments from Non-Vegetarians who feel like it’s their divine duty to convert you to the “meat-side.” And while other people aren’t treating you like you’re some kind of vegan alien, you’re struggling to find places which actually have a decent selection of veg food. So if you’re a vegetarian stuck in a land of meat-eaters, I bet you’ve heard some of these before.
- “Kya? Tum Non-Veg nahi khaate?!?!”
Wow. I just said I’m a vegetarian ☺ Did you figure that out all by yourself?
- “But then from where do you get your proteins?”
I don’t. Really, I don’t get any proteins at all. I might just drop dead in a minute or two. Just don’t eat me, okay?
- “It’s cool, hang out with us and you’ll start eating meat.”
Does the same principle apply to all things? Because I’ve always wanted to fly. Maybe I should start hanging out with birds…
- “Hum tere khaane main bina bataye chicken mila denge!”
And I will return the favor by mixing poison in yours. Yay!
- “Why don’t you try some… gravy?”
Shit. How did you know? How did you know that gravy would be my weakness? Now I can’t help but eat a whole giraffe.
- “Kabhi nahi khaya? How’s that possible?”
I don’t know ACP Pradyuman. Go figure.
- “Ghar pe bhi koi nahi khaata?”
No. Everyone at home is a pitiful creature who’s missing out on the best things in life, like me.
- “But what if you get married to a non-vegetarian. What then?”
We’ll eat kisses and drink love. Oh, so romantic ❤
- “Aur kabhi abroad✈ jaana pad gaya toh?”
I’ll learn that country’s word for “Leaf-Eater.”
10. “Tumhara chicken toh paneer hai. LoL.”
Your face is Paneer. Screw you.
11. “You must eat eggs. They’re kinda vegetarian only.”
You’re kinda stupid. How about that?
12. “Jhoota bhi nahi khaate hoge?”
Well, after seeing you scarf down an entire goat by yourself, I’m not very inclined to share the same plate with you.
13.”Arey, iske birthday pe toh cake bhi eggless aayega.”
Don’t worry about it. I’ll get you a Tandoori Chicken flavored cake.
14. “Tum toh ghaas-phoos khaate ho!”
Yes. “Baaaa…Baaaa…”
So, these are some sweet & moronic talks between vegetarian & non-vegetarian. We all in our group have such friends who always screw each other with type of questions & all these meaningless talks just ends with the laughing riot and we all love our friend, no matter what they eat? How weird they behave? How moronic their questions is? It’s just that we live in a society where people respects each other’s religion & respects their principles.
